Eppa Rixey
I am a PhD Candidate at MIT’s Sloan School of Management and I am on the academic job market for the 2024-2025 academic year

I study how interests in positions of potential weakness strategically respond to and potentially reshape their policy environments. My dissertation is a study of the coevolution of business strategy and regulatory environments using multiple methods, including field research, history, contemporary archives, interviews, and analysis of organization and government data. This work on the craft beer industry reveals how small firms engage with a variety of associated stakeholders to navigate and attempt to change restrictive regulatory environments, potentially creating opportunities for new business models to flourish. My research draws on insights from economic sociology, strategy, and entrepreneurship, while leveraging my experience as a corporate strategist.
